Continuing The Pitch Project’s legacy, it provides a platform for artists working nationally and internationally. Through exhibitions and programming, Hawthorn fosters dialogue that reflects contemporary societal conditions.

Plum Blossom Initiative (PBI), founded in 2015 by Leah Kolb and Jason S. Yi, supports emerging contemporary artists in Milwaukee. Its main project, Bridge Work, is a 9-month program fostering new work through studio space, critiques, and professional networking.
